Q. What are the current Medina County Home COVID-19 prevention and control procedures?
A. Anyone with inquiries or deliveries must come to the front doors and ring the doorbell for assistance. Residents are currently able to visit with family and friends through appointments. These visits occur outside on the verandas or under the pavilion based upon the number of guests visiting at one time (4 max). All visits are subject to COVID prevention and control measures.
Q. Are pets allowed?
A. No, but we currently have Sundae the cat, who resides in our activity room. Residents may assist with her care.
Q. Is smoking allowed?
A. Yes. Smoking is limited and only allowed in the designated outside smoking area. Smoking cessation programs are available.
Q. Is transportation available?
A. We assist you in coordinating transportation for medical appointments. No personal car allowed on property.
Q. How is my health care managed?
A. Your health care needs are met by our medical director and managed by our nursing department. Nursing coordinates your medical appointments and works with your physician orders. Nursing/Aides on duty 24/7 to assist you with your needs.
Q. Do I keep my own medications?
A. All medical prescriptions are filled and delivered to the County Home. Nursing Department dispenses all medications. No prescription or over-the-counter medications are permitted in resident rooms.
Q. Do I manage my own money?
A. For safe keeping, we recommend you 'bank' all money in administration. Banking hours made available to residents. Medina County Home can become your Social Security Rep payee for your convenience.
Q. How safe am I?
A. Open doors beginning at 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and locked down from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Q. How many meals are provided?
A. All three meals and snack are prepared and made daily on site.
Q. Can I afford to live at the County Home?
A. Fee is individually assessed on the basis of income.
Q. I have no income, am I still eligible?
A. If you have established residency in Medina County; are 18 years of age or older; need minimal assist/supervision with your personal care/medications; and mobile with minimal assist ... You qualify!
Q. Am I allowed to leave with family / friends?
A. Yes, we have you sign in and out with nursing.
